One week to go before the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. Join us on May 3-4 at South High as we celebrate with survivors, remember those that lost their fight, and fight back with those that are currently battling this terrible disease. There are still open time slots for walkers, and we still need people to help set up on Friday, as well as cleaning up on Sunday morning. Please let Darrin know if you are interested as soon as possible. Whether you walk or not, please come out for a great time of fellowship and interacting with the community.

We all know people whose lives have been affected by cancer. Some of them have won their fight, some have lost, and some are currently fighting. On May 3rd and 4th we have the opportunity to celebrate with those that have won, remember and pay tribute to those that have not, and help fight back against this disease and honor those that are still fighting against it. Join us at the stadium at South High from 9:00AM on the 3rd to 9:00AM on the 4th at the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Whether you walk or not, come out and celebrate with the whole community at this awesome event. There will be a number of food booths, as well as entertainment through out the day. And don’t forget the great fellowship! So come out and show the Victory Fellowship spirit!
We still need volunteers to help with the event:
- There are still open time slots for people that would like to walk for an hour.
- We need help to set up our site on Friday May 2nd from 4:00PM – 8:00PM.
- We need help to clean up and take things back to Victory on Sunday morning.
If you would like to participate, please see Darrin as soon as possible.
For more information, please see the Torrance Relay for Life website.

Here is a message from Eric about the upcoming Tijuana Mission:

It is the time of year to prepare for our Tijuana Mission. For those of you who are not familiar with the mission, let me give you a brief description. September 19-21, we will be heading for Tijuana to build a home for an underprivileged family. The house is a simple design and we are able to build the home in two days. It is a two room and loft home with a latrine. Even though this is a simple home, it is so much better than the home where they are presently living. The family does not necessarily have to be Christian. They are chosen depending on character and need. Therefore it is important that we represent Christ and his family in building the house. By showing our team work and love to the family, we can influence their lives toward Christ.
It is also a time to reflect about how we can better show Christ’s love at home and how God continues to bless us. I know personally, I sometimes tend to look at this as a task. However, I am reminded that this mission is God’s mission to spread his gospel, not only by words but by what we do and how we do it. Therefore, I hope you will look at this as an opportunity to grow in your Christian life. I hope you will take this time to join us in spreading God’s love.
Your Fellow Servant in Christ,
Eric Sasaki

Pastor Rick prepares the congregation to hear about “The Dream”. He speaks on outreach to the South Bay Asian American population and based his message on Nehemiah 1:1-11:
● Be open to God’s leading ● Remember that God puts the right people, in the right places, at the right time, for the right purposes ● Look beyond your own “circles” ● Allow God’s Spirit to “move” you ● Pray with confidence!
